Sunshine I — Pre-Kindergarten, 4 years old

Your child will learn:
1) child-friendly keyboard geography through stories and hands-on work on the piano.
2) to play 5 finger songs in the right hand and the left hand.
3) to read music on the staff and play hands together in butterfly position at middle C.
4) to compose a 4 measure song.

Sunbeams I — Kindergarten and 1st grade, 5 or 6 years old

Your child will learn:
1) child-friendly keyboard geography.
2) to read treble clef and bass clef songs.
3) to read and play songs on the grand staff, hands together.
4) to read a melody line and add the left hand harmony.
5) to play 3 scales, C major, a minor and G major.
6) to transpose simple 5 finger songs between those keys.
7) to compose a song, 4 measures minimum.

Moonbeams I — 2nd or 3rd grade, 7 or 8 years old 10 weeks of private lessons, preferably in the spring or summer before joining a Sunbeams II class in August.

Your child will learn:
1-4) from above list
5) to play 2 scales, C major and a minor.
6) to transpose simple 5 finger songs between those keys.
